Italy called in the Russian ambassador to discuss the death of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, according to a diplomatic source.

However, no further details were provided.

Italy joined the ranks of European nations like Belgium, France, Germany, Poland, and the European Union in summoning a Russian diplomat over the death of Alexei Navalny.

The move came after Navalny passed away at a remote Arctic prison last Friday. Italy’s decision to call upon the Russian ambassador adds to the growing international pressure on Russia regarding Navalny’s death, highlighting widespread concern and calls for accountability.
