The statement underscored the strategic importance of EU–Jordan relations, describing Jordan as a key partner in promoting regional stability, dialogue, and moderation. Both sides emphasized the need for sustained cooperation in addressing shared challenges, including regional security, humanitarian crises, economic pressures, and political fragmentation across the Middle East.

Focus on Regional Stability

EU leaders and the Jordanian monarch highlighted the urgency of coordinated international action to prevent further escalation in regional conflicts. The statement stressed support for diplomatic solutions, respect for international law, and the protection of civilians, particularly in conflict-affected areas.

Jordan’s role as a mediator and host to millions of refugees was acknowledged, with European leaders reiterating their appreciation for the kingdom’s stabilizing influence and its continued commitment to peace efforts.

Political and Economic Cooperation

The joint statement also outlined plans to deepen political dialogue and expand cooperation in economic development, trade, and investment. EU officials expressed support for Jordan’s economic reform agenda, pledging continued assistance aimed at boosting resilience, job creation, and sustainable growth.

Both sides agreed on the importance of multilateralism and effective international institutions, noting that regional challenges require collective responses rather than unilateral actions.

A Strategic Partnership

King Abdullah II and EU leaders reaffirmed their shared vision of a rules-based international order and a stronger partnership capable of responding to emerging geopolitical shifts. The statement concluded by confirming that regular consultations and high-level engagements will continue, reinforcing Amman’s role as a central hub for Euro–Arab political cooperation.

The Amman meeting signals a renewed push by both the European Union and Jordan to align policies and strengthen alliances at a time of heightened regional uncertainty and global geopolitical change.
