Lamborghini has taken a bold step in its electrification journey with the launch of the Temerario, the highly anticipated successor to the Huracán. As part of the Italian marque’s broader hybridisation strategy, the Temerario blends raw combustion power with advanced electric propulsion to deliver a driving experience that is both thrilling and forward-looking.
Power and Performance Redefined
At the heart of the Temerario is a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine that revs to 10,000rpm, producing 789bhp. Paired with three electric motors—each generating 148bhp—the combined system output reaches a formidable 907bhp.
This powertrain setup, inspired by Lamborghini’s 2023 V12 Revuelto, includes one electric motor between the engine and eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and two more on the front axle, enabling all-wheel drive. A compact 3.8kWh battery, mounted between the front seats, provides up to five miles of electric-only driving—ideal for silent neighborhood departures.
The result: 0–62mph in 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 210mph. These figures rival million-pound hypercars like the Aston Martin Valkyrie and Czinger 21C, while the Temerario is priced from £260,035.
Track-Ready Agility with Everyday Versatility
Tested on Portugal’s Estoril Circuit, the Temerario demonstrates exceptional cornering grip, stability, and responsiveness. Thanks to aerodynamic enhancements, including underbody vortex generators and a redefined rear diffuser, downforce increases by 103% over the Huracán EVO—or 158% with the optional Alleggerita carbon-fibre pack.
Drivers can choose from 13 driving modes, ranging from urban-friendly two-wheel drive (Città) to Corsa for track performance. There’s even a Drift mode with three selectable levels of oversteer—accompanied by the dashboard warning: “driver skills needed.”
Design and Interior: Distinctive and Driver-Focused
The Temerario’s styling is unmistakably Lamborghini, featuring a shark-nose front, sharp hexagonal lighting elements, and aggressive rear lines. Inside, the cabin offers modest practicality improvements, with more head and legroom, a larger front trunk, and extra storage behind the seats for custom luggage.
The cockpit retains Lamborghini’s fighter jet-inspired switchgear, including the iconic red flip-top ignition switch, and a central infotainment screen shaped like an alien mask.
The new sports seats provide 18-way adjustability, blending support and comfort for both road and track driving.
Temerario vs. Huracán: A New Era Begins
The Huracán, launched in 2014, became one of Lamborghini’s most successful models, with over 29,000 units sold worldwide. The Temerario not only carries that legacy forward but elevates it with groundbreaking hybrid technology and performance capabilities fit for the next decade.
While less vocally dramatic than its V10 predecessor, the Temerario delivers an arguably superior driving experience, blending power, innovation, and design in true Lamborghini fashion.
